Tanya L. Shubert

Experience

Tanya L. Shubert joined McWhirter in 2018 and is responsible for the oversight of managed healthcare properties in Alabama and Mississippi. She has more than 15 years of healthcare management experience and specialized expertise in life safety, emergency management, environment of care and regulation and standards for healthcare facilities and hospitals.

Prior to joining McWhirter, Tanya was the Director of Property Management for Johnson Development in Birmingham. Her previous experience included being the support for healthcare facility operations including management of hazardous waste, risk assessment, construction and environmental control. She also served as the expert in Life Safety and The Joint Commission standards for hospitals during the construction of a healthcare facility.

Accomplishments & Affiliations

Tanya has served in leadership roles for healthcare systems and served on various committees including Safety, Environment of Care, Infection Control and Quality Control. She holds certifications for FEMA National Incident Management, OSHA and HeartSaver® CPR, along with specialized training in electrical safety, defensive driving and advanced regional response training.

Education

Tanya earned a degree in Medical Terminology from Wallace State College.
